From AdventurEscape to REACT: The Story Behind Our Escape Room Adventures
From AdventurEscape to REACT Premium Escape Rooms — the story of Connecticut’s largest escape room destination.
Every great escape room has an origin story — and so does REACT. This escape room origin story began in 2017 and has grown into one of the most immersive escape rooms in Connecticut. The journey from AdventurEscape to what is now REACT Premium Escape Rooms is a story of creativity, resilience, and a long-standing commitment to building escape room experiences designed for connection, collaboration, and scale.
The Beginning: AdventurEscape in 2017
The lobby of AdventurEscape featured a hand-painted wooden sign of the logo.
REACT’s story started in 2017 under the name AdventurEscape. At the time, the escape room industry was still emerging, and immersive, story-driven experiences were just beginning to take shape. AdventurEscape opened with a single room: Raiders of the Lost Room — a classic adventure-inspired escape room built around puzzles, exploration, and teamwork.
From the very beginning, something became clear. Groups didn’t just want an escape room — they wanted to experience it together. As more corporate teams, large friend groups, and organizations began booking, AdventurEscape quickly recognized the need for larger escape room spaces that could comfortably accommodate team building and group collaboration. That insight helped shape the future direction of every room that followed.
This chapter marks the beginning of the escape room origin story that would eventually become REACT Premium Escape Rooms.
Growth, Expansion, and a Focus on Team Building
Following the success of Raiders of the Lost Room, AdventurEscape expanded over the next several years, growing from one escape room into four distinct adventures.
With each new build, the focus became clearer: escape rooms should be immersive, cinematic, and large enough for big groups to actively participate without feeling crowded or disconnected. This emphasis on scale and teamwork became a defining feature of the brand — rooms were intentionally designed to support communication, shared problem-solving, and movement, making them ideal for team building, corporate events, and large group experiences.
Over time, this philosophy helped establish AdventurEscape as a go-to destination for escape room team building in Connecticut. What began as a single escape room concept in 2017 has grown into one of the most immersive escape rooms in Connecticut.
A Turning Point: COVID and a New Vision
When COVID hit, AdventurEscape — like many small businesses — was forced to shut its doors. But rather than viewing this pause as a setback, it became an opportunity to rethink, rebuild, and reimagine what the experience could be.
During the shutdown, the decision was made to fully rebrand. AdventurEscape became REACT Premium Escape Rooms — a name that better reflected both the location and the mission moving forward. REACT stands for Room Escape Adventures Connecticut, a clear representation of the immersive, large-scale escape room experiences the brand was built to deliver.
At the same time, every game was completely redesigned. Puzzles were refined, environments were expanded, and storytelling became more layered and cinematic. The goal was not just to reopen — but to raise the bar for immersive escape rooms and team building experiences in New England.
The new REACT Premium Escape Rooms logo features a maze with a double “R” — a fresh identity for a reimagined experience.
Reopening as REACT Premium Escape Rooms
When the doors reopened, REACT wasn’t simply a new name — it was a new standard. With redesigned adventures and a renewed focus on immersive, large-group gameplay, REACT quickly gained momentum. Rooms became bigger, stories more engaging, and experiences more collaborative.
This evolution ultimately positioned REACT as the largest escape room venue in New England, capable of accommodating more players at once than any other escape room in the region. That same mission continues today — every escape room at REACT is built with team building, group flow, and shared experience in mind.
An Upgraded Space for Events and Celebrations
Alongside its escape room expansions, REACT also upgraded its event space to better support birthday parties, corporate team building events, group celebrations, and private gatherings. The venue is designed to host groups before and after their escape room experience, creating a seamless event environment from start to finish.
This combination of large-scale escape rooms and a dedicated event space has made REACT a destination not just for gameplay — but for memorable group experiences of all kinds.
Where REACT Is Today — and What’s Next
Today, REACT Premium Escape Rooms offers five immersive escape room adventures, each designed to challenge teams through storytelling, collaboration, and problem-solving. From high-energy missions to mystery-driven experiences, REACT continues to push the boundaries of what escape rooms can be — especially for large groups and team building.
What started as a single room and a big idea has grown into a successful and expanding enterprise, with even bigger things coming in the near future. New adventures, new concepts, and continued innovation are always in development. As expectations continue to grow, escape rooms in Connecticut are evolving to offer more immersive, large-scale experiences like those at REACT.
The Heart of REACT
At its core, REACT is built on the belief that escape rooms should bring people together. Whether players are visiting for team building, a birthday celebration, or their very first escape room experience, the mission remains the same: create immersive adventures that challenge the mind, strengthen connections, and leave lasting memories.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a full escape room origin story centered on connection, creativity, and shared experience.
From AdventurEscape to REACT Premium Escape Rooms, the journey has been one of growth, intention, and vision — and the adventure is far from over.
